From a humble beginning in 1997 the Magaliesberg Citrus Festival developed into a roaring successful and popular outing for the whole family. The attendance grew constantly from some 3 000 people in the first year to the 15 000 happy faces in 2012. This begs the question: Why is this festival so popular? Perhaps the answer is contained in our motto: Taste the mountain! The Magaliesberg and its people are well known for their kindness and hospitality. Here we mingle togetherness, eating, various performing artists and sport during a real fun day. Add to this the breathtaking beauty of the Magaliesberg to get a unique recipe for a successful feast! The ATKV resort Buffelspoort with its five star amenities is the ideal venue for such a festival.
Our area is well known for its citrus – particularly naartjes and valencias -
The festival takes place annually during the last weekend of May. It kicks off with a formal dinner and concert on the Friday night. During Saturday we socialise all day while guest performing artists create the necessary ambience.
